ME by Meliá Dubai has unveiled What’s Brought to Life, an exhibition by two artists, Natalya Urmanova and Elvira Iurova (Feb. 13 – Mar. 13). It is an invitation for introspection, an exploration of human identity through the raw power of creativity and the transformative nature of self-expression.

At the heart of this exhibition lies an extraordinary creative collaboration, one born from an unexpected friendship between two artists with distinct yet complementary visions.

“A keen gaze from my father looked at me through the lens of an old film camera. ‘One more time — we need to try the new film,’ he would say, persuading me to pose again. Dad was relentless, constantly taking pictures of my mother, sister, and me.

What’s Brought to Life” at ME by Meliá Dubai is an exhibition celebrating identity, transformation, and creativity. Featuring the works of portrait artist Natalya Urmanova and jewelry designer Elvira Iurova, the showcase blends powerful art and design to inspire self-discovery and personal growth.

As part of the ongoing commitment to merging fashion, architecture, and artistry in the region’s vibrant arts ecosystem, ME Dubai Hotel is set to debut portrait artist Natalya Urmanova’s extensive collection starting on February 7th, 2024. Titled “Power of Seeing,” the exhibition showcases Urmanova’s keen eye for detail and presents her artistic and personal journey through a series of captivating black-and- white portraits.

Running until 29th February, the new exhibition is a striking collection of black and white photographs, paying homage to human emotion and the golden age of cinema.

With more than 15 years of extensive background in the fashion industry working with luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Prada and Saint Laurent, photographer Natalya Urmanova has had a long innings in the UAE too. A resident of the Emirates for nearly two decades, she took a decision to leave fashion and take up photography. She describes why and how this happened.
